Summerhouse in Southern DK

We had a couple of weeks of sunshine at the beginning of May and we rushed to Inge's families' summerhouse down in southern DK (Sønderjylland). At this time of year the fields come alive with the colour of the Raps plants, seen here with a typical Danish whitewashed church. No kidding, this is the archetypal scene and you will see this same image every 5-10 minutes on a tour of the Danish countryside!

To get the party started we pop over the border to get some tax-free refreshments in Germany...

It is a really beautiful summerhouse designed and built by Inge's Dad. It looks out over the Flensburg Fjord to Germany (the strip of land behind the yacht).

We spent most of the time on the deck. The sun goes down at about 10 pm so there is plenty of time to enjoy out there.

The water was about 16 degrees so of course Rikke got wet... No swimming just yet though. Mmm. Looks inviting too.

Breakfast in the sun with Inge and Steen... still required a jumper but wonderful none the less!

On the way home we visited Anne and Erling (Rikke's parents). They bought a Bottlebrush to go with their Australian-style verandah they built onto the house. It has to be taken inside over the winter ;-)
