For some reason Braden seems to always bring the weather with him... This time he also brought Tony and Phantom.

While Braden, Luke and Rikke slept off their hangovers, Tony and I went out and saw a ruined castle outside Aarhus.

Easter in Freiburg

Happy Easter or Frohliche Ostern as they say in Germany! We have spent the weekend down in Freiburg visiting Diane. Freiburg is in southern Germany only about 30 km from the Swiss border and in the Black Forest region. This is a catholic area so you can be sure that we did not get to sleep in as the Easter bells started tolling pretty early.


We hired a car and took a drive in the hills around the town. There was some snow still around but spring had definitely sprung down there... We picked up some great wine and also a couple of bottles of spirits at German prices. These wil come in very handy for Rikke's Birthday party on the 28th...

Weekend in the Garden

The birds go absolutely crazy in the spring. The blackbirds get up on the house gables and sing a really beautiful song. This big boy has a good position and is sure to get one of the hot local birds... (boom, boom)


Here the modern suburban male packs his woodshed. God damn that puts hair on the chest.


I had to get up in the apple trees and go amok with the garden shears to cut away the shoots without buds (flower buds = apples). They say if you so this you get bigger apples. Hopefully, we get a good pile of apples out of them. In true suburban home owner-style I have now have a bunch of new gadgets that I need to get. Click here for a gift idea.





We are making the most of the initial enthusiasm with the gardens and trying to get some things done. Hopefully it does not totally disappear. ;-)
