Moving In

Spring is here and in DK that means flowers and finally some "warm" weather.

For us it meant drop sheets...

Rikke putting her back into it. We had some incentive to get the job done as Peter, Kirsten and their recent addition were coming to visit. In a scene from a Hollywood movie we removed the last drop sheet as their car pulled into the driveway...

Peter and Katrina (extremely cute). Katrina that is...

A form for "hard work" that I am more accustomed to: We broke a few bottles over the bow of the new lounge room.

Now we finally get to enjoy the place (each in their own way). Sitting here at midnight with Rikke asleep on the couch, it is starting to feel like home...

New House

Welcome to our new home! We have the right half of the building pictured and a nice big 600 m2 garden.

Needless to say, the above pictures were taken during summer. The yard now looks like this as we look out from the kitchen window...

Nothing left to do but stoke our wood fire... Note: that this is all we have (getting central heating is high on the priority list)! If you want to live close to the centre of Aarhus you have to take the "handyman discount" as they call it here - the house with "possibilities" if you are an estate agent.

Here is my favourite room in the house (far away from the wood heater)... The Danish beer fridge.

But wait! ...hope is on the way. The first bulbs are coming up in the garden: Vintergaekker (white) and Erantis (yellow). Spring is coming!
